Church on the Street

C.O.T.S. is a mission outreach of the First Church of God. The Good News will never change but the way we package it has. The event, held outdoors in good weather, includes a praise band, special vocals, testimonies, prayer time, simple to understand message, and an abundance of God's Love. A basic meal is provided each week. Be sure to ask about our Food Distribution and Clothing Program.

Wednesdays @ 6:30pm

WE DO CHURCH VERY DIFFERENTLY! “EVERY WEDNESDAY NIGHT”

The event, held outdoors in good weather, includes a praise band, special vocals, testimonies, prayer time, simple to understand message, and an abundance of God’s Love. A basic meal is provided each week. Be sure to ask about our Food Distribution and Clothing Programs.

OUR SERVICES ARE BEING HELD AT 1408 E. ST. CLAIR STREET. Weather permitting we meet in the outdoor pavilion, otherwise we meet in the fellowship room. Service starts at 6:30 p.m.

We have experienced weddings, several funerals, and a baby dedication. Approximately 40 people have been baptized.

Our fourth mission trip to Church On The Street – Atlanta is in September of 2015.

C.O.T.S. mobile kitchen was birthed in May of 2012.  We kicked off the 2016 season in April with location expansion and will end in October. We serve meals at the four Vincennes Housing locations, and at Jamestown housing. Thanks to our C.O.T.S. family and staff who have coordinated these events.

We successfully implemented a fresh vegetable garden in 2012. (see pics). The 2013 garden was expanded to 30′ x 30′. We have taken the experience of the past four years to make this year’s garden even better. The planting schedule, harvesting, and distribution have improved greatly. Thanks to all that are volunteering their time to the garden. The various vegetables are free. Sign up at our welcome center in the lobby.

Additional projects include painting and cleaning our outdoor facilities, (see pics). We also added five new picnic tables. Light have been installed in the pavilion.

In February of 2014 we started a soup kitchen. Serving, in our kitchen area, starts at 12 noon on Tuesday and ends at 12:30 p.m. We have a rotating four-week menu featuring homemade soup, a sandwich and a variety of drinks. The soup kitchen ministry runs February through May and September through December.

C.O.T.S. was started May 4th, 2008.
