The 2013 garden was expanded to 30′ x 30′. We have taken the experience of the past three years to make this year’s garden even better. The planting schedule, harvesting, and distribution have improved greatly. Thanks to all that are volunteering their time to the garden.
There are multiple ways to serve with Five & Two Hunger Ministry. Loaves and Fishes provides weekly meals. Vincennes Food Pantry organizes and delivers food. You can serve by helping with: food preparation, food purchasing, food pantry store worker, meal time serving, meal time logistics or food pantry delivery.
When a home is destroyed, a tornado hits, or a flood claims a neighborhood, we volunteer through Helping His Hands short term mission response. Volunteer at different levels. Phase 1: volunteer within the first 6 hours and serves for the first 48 hours.
Phase 2: volunteer after first 48 hours and targets primitive lodging, first aid, food, etc.
Phase 3: volunteers arrive and begin helping distribute supplies and build relationships.
Phase 4: volunteers rebuilds homes and churches for victims.
In February of 2014 we started a soup kitchen in our our facility. Serving starts at 12 noon and ends at 12:30 p.m. every Tuesday. We have a rotating four week menu featuring homemade soup, a sandwich and a variety of drinks. Operates seasonally.
Serving the Lord by building, teaching, and healing. The Bi-annual Work Camp Projects Abroad are the best way to gain a global vision of what God is doing around the world! If you can swing a hammer, hand a tool, pass a block, or you have certified construction skills- you can help build a church or home in disaster regions with us as we build friendships beyond our culture.
